Check out the FAQ below to learn more about our pediatric care services in Odessa, TX.
What schedule do we recommend for pediatric visits?
Your child's first pediatric visit should occur when they're 3-5 days old, then again when they're 1 month old. After that, you should schedule pediatric visits when they reach:
- 2 months old
- 4 months old
- 6 months old
- 9 months old
- 12 months old
- 15 months old
- 24 months old
- 30 months old
Once they reach age 3, you can start scheduling yearly exams. During your child's pediatric visits, we'll make sure they're reaching developmental milestones and staying healthy.
Are immunizations necessary?
Immunizations protect your child from severe and potentially fatal health problems. Without them, your child could contract a wide range of serious diseases, including measles, mumps and tetanus. Our doctors follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention immunization schedule, but will make adjustments as necessary depending on your child's health.
Do you always need to schedule a pediatric-related appointment?
Children get into all kinds of scary-and sometimes painful-situations as they grow and play. While small abrasions or bruises might not warrant a pediatric appointment, our urgent care center is always open to help you handle more serious issues.
